Meet Karen

Karen

Founder & Lead Transition Coordinator

Karen is the founder and lead transition coordinator at Tremula Transitions. She works directly with families navigating estate settlement, downsizing, moving, and the practical decisions surrounding a longtime home. Her approach combines compassionate communication with organized, hands-on coordination so families have one reliable point of contact throughout the transition.

Karen serves families throughout Utah and Idaho, with each project evaluated individually for location, scope, timing, and travel.

The name.

Tremula is drawn from Populus tremula, the aspen — a tree whose slender leaves catch every breath of wind and whose roots quietly connect one generation of a grove to the next. It is a name about resilience, renewal, movement, roots, and the connections between people, places, and belongings across generations.

A move is rarely just a move. It is a shift in what a family carries forward and what it sets down. A home is more than square footage. The work is to honor both — and then to get the practical part done well.

How Karen works.

Every project begins with a consultation and, where possible, a walkthrough. From there comes a written plan: what will happen, in what order, who is responsible, and what becomes of the items that are not kept. Decisions are made at a pace the family can manage, in private, with the information needed to make them well.

Tremula Transitions stays firmly in its lane. It is not a law firm, appraisal firm, auction house, brokerage, moving company, licensed contractor, fiduciary, or medical provider. Where a licensed professional is required, Karen coordinates the ones your family has chosen or refers you to independent specialists.

Where Karen works.

Families across Utah and Idaho — the Salt Lake Valley, Park City and the Wasatch Back, Utah Valley, southern Utah, the Treasure Valley, and eastern and northern Idaho. Project availability, travel requirements, and estate-sale suitability are confirmed during the initial consultation.

Why families call Tremula

One accountable coordinator

You work with Karen. She holds the plan, the schedule, and the communication — not a rotating cast of contacts.

Respect for the home and the family

Work happens quietly and privately, at the pace the family can manage.

Clear written plans

Scope, responsibilities, and what happens to unsold or unclaimed items are agreed in writing before work begins.

Thoughtful handling of belongings

Documents, photographs, and personal records are set aside and protected rather than swept up.

Coordination with outside professionals

Attorneys, realtors, movers, and specialists your family has already chosen are coordinated, not replaced.

Support for out-of-state relatives

Photographs, written updates, and scheduled calls so distant family can participate in real decisions.
